We are Federico and Paolo, we were not born in Venice, and we were flat-mates during our studies by IUAV (Istituto Universitario di Architettura Venezia). Once we finished the university as architects, we stopped here as graphic designers. We set up Small Caps atelier around 2012, a place where we design our illustrations and where we print them with our hands in small editions, using the screen print technique.

The posters we create focus on Venice. We choose not to deal with gondolas, Piazza San Marco square, Rialto bridge and all those obvious symbols worldwide known; we deal with the small little things, with the wide territory of the lagoon, with the citizens. And we are escaping from the risk of the city-museum, that’s why we deal with the modern and contemporary aspects of Venice. Through this attitude, we proudly noticed quite half of our posters are sold to Venetians, and to those who have been living in it, like students and workers. So please don’t call them (just) souvenirs.
Our atelier is in Dorsoduro district, in Campo Santa Margherita square (coordinates 45°26’01.8″N 12°19’22.5″E).
